LOUISE CUNNINGHAM

What I do:

I believe the relationship between coach and client is at the heart of successful coaching . I have a deep appreciation and respect for the uniqueness of each relationship. I listen with empathy to each client. My purpose is to empower clients in reaching their goals and making the changes necessary to be their best self at every stage of life’s journey.

How I work:

Taking time to pause and reflect on values, hopes and ambitions is vital. Using questions, creative and embodied methods, I support and challenge clients to achieve greater awareness about their way of being and how they see the world. A firm believer in multiple intelligences, I am motivated to see clients tap into hidden potential, harness innate talents and build confidence. Working collaboratively, we look afresh at old dilemmas; limiting beliefs are probed, challenged and tested. I focus on opportunities while also bringing attention and awareness to the client’s wider picture or “system”. Energy, optimism and self-belief return as new possibilities emerge. Different behaviours are identified and trialled before clients move forward.

About Me:

Before training as a business coach I gained extensive experience in education nationally and internationally. “Educere” means to lead or bring out. Bringing out the best in pupils while simultaneously instilling them with confidence, passion and belief has given me enormous satisfaction throughout my teaching career. Seeking challenge and development I moved to Luxembourg where I worked as leader in a large multicultural institution for nine years. This experience shaped and informed my understanding of the importance of cultural sensitivity, inclusivity and diversity in the workplace and in society. As principal of an expanding school in Ireland I implemented major change and innovation at a time of scarce resources while fostering positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

A certified coach/mentor with the Centre for School Leadership in 2016, I support newly-appointed school principals in Ireland and abroad. I have a keen interest in how Communication Skills, Emotional Intelligence and Positive Psychology can transform the lives of people seeking satisfaction, purpose and meaning from their career. I work with corporate clients across a range of sectors (see testimonials). I bring expertise in leadership, talent and relationship management, strategic development, change and innovation to my coaching practice. Constantly advancing my professional development in service of my clients, I also bring humour and creativity to coaching. A wife and mother of two fledglings I enjoy swimming, hill-walking, yoga and am enthused and humbled by my rookie attempts at golf.
